How to Register a Blog to Webmaster Tools

Building a blog is not as easy as we imagine, it takes time, thought, and persistence to keep it running optimally. Is that all? The answer is no. Those are just a handful of very important endeavors to pay attention to.


A blogger also needs several steps and separate ways to be able to push an article to be on the first page of Google. One of the many ways that need to be considered at the beginning is to register a blog with Google Webmaster Tools first, so that the blog that you manage and the articles published can be detected by Google.


What is Google Webmaster Tools?

Google Webmaster Tools or Google Search Console is a digital set that is used to collect data from blogs to inform you as the owner of the blog. You can use it to see what is happening on the blog that you manage. That way, you can also analyze and take action for the development of the blog in the future.


How to Register a Blog with Google Webmaster Tools

Registering a blog with Google Webmaster Tools is very easy, it only requires a few steps. Please follow this tutorial to completion and of course I will include a picture to further clarify the registration process.


1. Please enter the new version of Google Webmaster. Click on Search Console




2. You will enter the Select property type page. For more convenience please choose the URL Prefix. Enter your blog URL. Example of a blog URL for Blogger is https://yourblog.blogspot.com/. After that click on CONTINUE




3. Next you will go to the ownership verification page. To make it easier, please scroll down. Use another verification method. Select HTML Tag. Please copy the HTML code. Don't close this page yet. Please open a new tab, go to your blog Dashboard. Select Theme then select Edit HTML




Then in the HTML column, please press ctrl + F to open the search field (top right corner). Please type <head>. Then the text <head> will appear in HTML editing. The HTML code that you copied earlier, please paste it under the <head> code (see image below). After that click Save theme. If there are a lot of <head> code please look for the top one yourself.




4. Next, please re-enter the ownership verification page. Click Verify. Please note, click verify in the HTML Tag column. Not the one above it. more details, see the image below.




5. You will get a notification Ownership has been verified. Your blog is registered with webmaster tools. Next, please click OPEN PROPERTY to view your blog's Webmaster Dashboard


6. Make sure in the top left corner column is your blog URL.




With a verified Ownership notification, your blog is registered with Webmaster Tools. If it fails, it means that there is an error in placing the HTML code in the Edit HTML Theme menu. Please check again.


This is one of the many ways to get your blog and its contents on the first page of Google. This does not mean that your blog is "definitely" on the first page, it all remains on your tenacity in managing the blog.
